Responsibilities

Daily Duties:

 

  • Provides examines, diagnoses and treats patients of eighteen (18) years of age and older.
  • Acts as a consultant on all adult cases referred by other staff providers of
  • Completes medical charts after each visit in the electronic medical records
  • Provides quality medical care according to standards established by
  • Participates in providing continuity of care including hospital in-patient
  • All other duties or responsibilities as assigned by Medical Director

 

Coaching/Training:

 

  • May provide in-service trainings for staff in selected topics in Internal Medicine as deemed necessary by the Medical Director.
  • Assures a high quality educational experience for medical students, residents and other individuals in a training role.

 

Operations:

 

  • Assists and participates in internal quality control
  • Provides supervision to advanced practice nurses in accordance with the LSCC Delegation Protocol/Collaborative Practice
  • Supervises medical assistants and lab personnel in area of specific support services for patient care
  • Attends internal and external meetings, workshops and conferences, and participates on task forces or committees, when necessary and as required.
  • Actively monitor Internal Medicine service productivity
  • Fulfills established guidelines set in place for provider encounter levels

 

Compliance:

 

  • Applies for and obtains staff privileges at community hospitals in the area as recommended/required
  • Performs all duties and services in full compliance with LSCC’s Quality Standards Type in specific job duties under this area
  • Achieves and maintains LSCC Core Clinical Competencies

 

Qualifications

You are a board-certified APRN who is passionate about working with the underserved population who may be experiencing significant barriers to care. You are comfortable providing care both in person and virtually, and you want to grow a practice where you and your patients work together to decide the best course of treatment in achieving their goals in an outpatient setting.

  • Mission focused and passionate about improving access to quality healthcare.
  • Proactive and thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Comfortable working independently in a group setting while also seeking support and consultation from colleagues.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with community partners and emergency medical/psychiatric service providers to ensure patient safety if a patient needs a higher level of care.
  • Possess computer/technology skills to efficiently document within an electronic health record and conduct tele-medicine visits, as well as communicating/meeting with colleagues virtually.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred
